Ibiza travel attractions

Do you want to enjoy a blue sky on a perfect beach ? Ibiza is a fabulous destination to relax. What can you see in Ibiza? On Ibiza the sea is your playground. All of the main resort beaches have a watersports centre for jet-skis, parasailing and water-skiing and other motorised fun. Stand-up paddling and kayaking are also on the menu here. At the port in Ibiza Town you could also charter a yacht: You can sail alone if you’ve got the experience or hire a boat with its own captain to take you anywhere you want to go around Ibiza’s craggy coast. You could also take your adventure beneath the waves. There are 17 diving schools on the island, and it’s a wonderful activity here as the water clarity is so high and there are all kinds of caves and underwater drop-offs to see.

The port city known as Ibiza Town is the largest and pretiest destination on the island. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Ibiza Town boasts a walled fortress as well as cobblestone streets. Locals call the city Eivissa. Ibiza Town is divided into sections: Dalt Vila and Eixample. Perched above the water, Dalt Vila, or Old Town, is the historic area filled with world-class restaurants and a great selection of bars. Below, you’ll find Eixample, or Extension, where most of the newer buildings can be found. While visiting, be sure to check out the Cathedral called Our Lady of the Snows, which offers perhaps the best views in the entire town.

Es Vedra is a rocky and uninhabited island, standing 413m high, just off the south-west of Ibiza. A mythical place, folk-lore says not only that it is the third most magnetic place on earth, but that it is the birthplace of Phoenician goddess Tanit, and that it was home to the sirens and sea nymphs who tried to lure Ulysses from his ship in Homer’s Odyssey. The island is also the setting for the local fable Es Gegant des Vedra (the giant of Es Vedra) about two brothers who go to the island to search for a cure for their father’s illness and come face to face with a giant. Mythology aside, Es Vedra is a stunning place to take some pictures or watch the sun go down.

While San Antonio is an area in Ibiza that’s known for its nightlife and super clubs, it’s also one of the BEST places to watch the sunset. Head to Sunset Strip an hour before the sun sinks and snag a spot at a bar or a cafe. Order a cocktail and prepare to witness one of the most mesmerizing sunsets you’ll ever see. It’s a great way to take a step back and really appreciate where you are in the world. Dude, you’re in IBIZA and probably having the time of your life! Take it all in.

Dating back to the 13th century, the unique ‘cross’ design of the village’s church stems from its interesting dual purpose, catering to both the religious and defensive needs of San Miguel. Situated on top of a hill, the church enjoys uninterrupted rural views across the north west of the island. Local archaeologists have recently uncovered original frescos, and visitors to San Miguel will be stunned by the delicate and religious floral paintings that were hidden for centuries within the fortress church.
